Great Hotel Rates At Five Star Resorts Now

By Chris Linch

For most people on the road, the prospect of staying over at a 5-star hotel is only a dream. When it comes to traveling, we have gotten used to entertaining ourselves, naturally. Vacationing for us means hiking, sight-seeing the local area, or perhaps checking out a movie -- nothing too fancy. And, particularly if this is a business trip, such goodies as room service don't even come to mind (although when we were children, staying in a hotel meant fun like swimming in the pool).

To many people, the term "luxury accommodation" conjures up an image of a clean room and a comfortable bed. With a five-star hotel, this limited concept definitely needs expansion. In that sort of hotel, a customer should not be surprised to find marbled floors in the lobby, a fireplace in every room of a suite, a catered meal on demand, awesomely appointed recreation rooms, and masseuses on call. Not everybody will experience a need or want to access every single amenity offered in a five-star, but they may feel the urge to "seize the day" and make their stay an experience, indeed.

The five-star hotel just dares us to stay at it. The impressive degree of luxury proffered makes it a dare difficult to brush aside. And while the price of a stay is not cheap, the total value of a stay at any such establishment worldwide makes it well worthwhile. Some of the rooms we can register for come with deluxe units, king-size beds, and the proverbial "view", some are terraced and contain a magnificent king-sized four-poster, and some are breezy, spacious suites with multiple balconies. The architectural design of these hotels, particularly that of the internal spaces, is superbly realized, making them a draw if for nothing other than the art of their design.

Regardless of location, most five-star hotels will provide for us a thoroughly up-to-date, and decidedly comfortable, stay-over, which will make it all that much harder to not come back. Part of this memorable experience is the, um, bathroom. Yes, we will remember the huge tubs and showers, attractively tiled, the deluxe toiletries laid out for afterward, and for us ladies, a darling dual vanity. The icing on the cake? A personal concierge service to help you get ready for drinks and dancing in the stunning lounge/bar.

The sort of amenities you have come to expect in most common hotels you can find in a five-star hotel. These would include ample parking, air conditioning, cable TV, private baths with hair dryer, mini-bars, in-room safes, coffee/tea makers, telephone and Internet access. Less common features, such as saunas, tour desks, and breakfast rooms are almost assuredly to be found as well. No matter where you find a five-star hotel, you are going to find that it is held in highest regard by other hotels with which it competes. If you have any doubts that you are in one of the best hotels available, the quality of lodging and service will quickly disabuse you of those notions. If nothing else does it, then the exquisite cuisine crafted by five-star chefs will go a long way to converting any misgivings. The coup de grace will be the nirvana-inducing lounge with bar, whose seductive qualities will make you very reluctant to consider ever checking out.
