See The Historical And Contemporary Norwich - Norfolk

Norwich - Norfolk and in was settled by Romans and has continued their with the Anglo Saxon thing beyond. This town has a rich history that extends far back into antiquity and has managed to be a thriving center today.

Norwich is the home of the largest open air market and all of England. This market dates back to 1070s from the time of the Normans. There are also several modern malls with one being built into the side of a hill with a park on top of the roof.

In May, The Norfolk and Norwich music festival is a sixteen day event known internationally. Originally started in 1772 to show off the music and art from the area it has been expanded to include circus acts and dance and theater groups in addition to the music scene.

Norfolk also has many beautiful gardens including the Plantation Gardens hidden in the busy city center. The Animal Ark is also another area that has playgrounds, and a wide variety of inside to an animal wildlife. You can stay all day and bring a picnic or eat at one of the restaurants that are located here.

The nightlife here is action packed and can be good for a bit of excitement. The bars on Tombland use historical buildings to give it a truly unique ambiance. You can also find stand up comedy and trendy nightclubs. All the offerings give this a truly diverse and thrilling after hours entertainment.

Some of the best known landmarks in England are here. Norwich Castle was a Norman royal palace in use in 1067. It is now a museum and offers tours through it. The Norwich Cathedral as the rare honor of being they only cathedral anyone to have the Saxon throne remain in its original position. Finished in 1101 it offers unparalleled beauty and tranquility to this day.

The Norfolk Broads is England's largest protected wetland area. This area features many wildlife attractions, and is best known for its bird watching and reserves. You can tour the waterways on foot, bicycle or take a railway tour to visit any of the many windmills and garden center available.

Norwich - Norfolk has many types of things for you to enjoy in this town. The history is rich in varied, giving you a combination of the old and new in a charming way.
