Monterey Hotels May Be Vacation You Will Always Remember

By Nathan D. Clark

On the southern edge of Monterey Bay on the coast of Central California, Monterey hotels offer luxury, romance and gorgeous scenery. The hotels are located north of the Bay Area and are the subject of literature and songs like John Steinbeck's novels.

Your trip to Monterey could involve side trips to beautiful cities located along the bay like Half Moon Bay and Carmel. The California clapper rail is just one of the rare birds located in the area. These will present wonderful photo opportunities. The marine layer will cover the whole central coast of California making the mornings misty and cool even in the hottest months.

There have been new services added to the Monterey Peninsula Airport so flying is a good option now. For a more economical option the San Jose International Airport offers car rentals for a short drive along the coast. There is also a trolley service that is free that will take you around the downtown area and get you to the Aquarium. The Monterey-Salinas Transit is also available for maneuvering around the city.

When you are ready to make your reservations, there are a lot of websites online that will give detailed information or you can contact the Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce for all the information you need. The hotels along the marina are luxurious and have amazing views of the sailboats if that is your pleasure.

There are actually a large variety of hotels available in the Monterey area that offer indoor heated pools, beachfront floral gardens and art galleries. The Internet has several pictures that show in detail the amazing accommodations available.

Along with the really grandiose hotel suites there are also many medium priced accommodations that may fit your buget better. Many package deals and discounts can be found online. If staying at a quaint bed and breakfast inn is more to your liking there are many choices that are all done in old world style with spas in the rooms and offer free champagne as well.

If you would like to get a feel for the experience of the Monterey Bay vacation you might want to read one of the novels by John Steinbeck like his classic "Cannery Row". While you are there you can visit the infamous Salinas's John Steinbeck Museum for a closer look at the man and his writing.

There are many attractions near the hotels like the wineries, spas and many beautiful golf courses. No matter how you want to unwind, you will have something to enjoy all within a short distance of the hotels in the Monterey area.

For a more romantic experience you can take a stroll through the architectural landmarks like Cooper-Molera Adobe House or the House of Blue Gate and walk through groves of redwoods and Monterey pines that are close to the many nature reserves.
