Young Hol Chan The Stolen Ancient Remains Of Mexico

By Frank D. Gardner

Based on the reports of BBC, the name was already given to the skeleton found in the bottom of a cave; the skeleton submerged in Quintana Roo was 10 thousand years old.

It was found in one of Tulum's underwater passage ways, 542 meters from the cave's entrance and of 8 meters deep. The area was open for diving enthusiasts and it was in 2006 that the divers discovered this. But, it was not found there any longer.

Aside from it, 6 other skeletons have also been found in Quintana Roo from people who apparently lived during the last glaciation, since the fossilized remains were found in underwater caves, which indicated that they were buried on the surface when they have died. However, the remains were covered with water during the end of the ice age and due to snowmelt the sea level increased.

The Priceless Treasure Is Lost

For years, the bones of what could possibly be one of many most ancient skeletons of America were collected. Most of the parts were collected in 2010 and it gave evidence that Asians were the main populace of the continent.

However, we do not know for sure from what period are these human bones as the bones were not analyzed. Yet, because he lived before that material was used, he was known as "pre-ceramic".

The scientist cannot study it since the skeleton is now missing. "Someone came ahead of us and we do not know the skeleton whereabouts", mentioned Jeronimo Aviles, who is a part of the "Pre-ceramic Men" project in the Yucatan Peninsula. In the time the team of scholars went to the site where they had located the bones, they found that the skeleton had been taken away with no care. Only a few remnants were left, and that include two skulls from bats.

Given the facts, INAH or National Institute of Anthropology and History presented a report which stated that the there has been a robbery in the institute on repeated and several occasions. Yet, it was highlighted that this is a robbery like no other because it's the looting of a priceless treasure possessing a high scientific value.

"The skeletons located in the Tulum's cenotes have a high importance to anthropological history due to their age, and because evidently they fit in with the very first occupants of The United States," mentioned Carmen Rojas Sandoval who has taken part of the study of the skeletons for the last decade.

According to the researcher, not everyone knew the exact location of the bones; and to get there one has to go through dark, flooded mazes, a thousand seventy meters from the entrance with depth of 3 meters.

Basically, when in 2011 the INAH reported the news of the finding, it never stated the place. These all make us visualize a purposeful action from somebody who knew about the work. Nevertheless, last March brand new images of the place were shown where they located the remains.

Therefore, the link which could confirm that the very first humans found its way to the Yucatan Peninsula fleeing the ice age which had covered half the world for centuries IS MISSING.

What sort of penalty, you think, must be put on the thieves?
