Take turns driving when traveling for extended periods of time. This gives all passengers and drivers a chance to rest. Never drive to the point of exhaustion. Develop a schedule, instead, where you and another driver switch every couple of hours. This will stop you from becoming so tired while you are behind the wheel.

Select a pair of shoes you will comfortable in and can remove easily for air travel. You will have to remove them for security checks. Comfort is extremely important. Most of the time during air travel is spent sitting so you do not need foot support.

Travel size toiletries are pretty expensive and won't save you that much room. Try to find a better and more space-efficient way to pack your clothes. You can have more space in your bags than you thought if you pack properly. You can try rolling them instead of folding them the regular way. You may also buy some small containers for your shampoos, soaps and other toiletries to be able to save space efficiently.

Wait to exchange large amounts of money until you get to your destination. If you know that where you're going won't let you exchange your money for the local currency before you land, make sure to bring exchange it before you go.

Make sure you have a map of the area with you if you are planning on any outdoor adventures. Better yet, bring your compass or GPS to use if you get lost in unfamiliar woods. This way, you will not lose your way on the road. If it does happen, you will have something to keep you back on the track.

You should buy an electrical adapter from a discounted electronics shop before traveling to another country. If you buy one from the airport or a shop near the hotel, you will probably pay a lot more than the normal price. Go to online shops or to affordable electrical device shops weeks before your departure in order to shop for the best deals. You will most likely need a camera to capture great moments and experiences.

Don't use the currency exchange in foreign countries if you can avoid it. A better option exists to get your hands on the local currency. You can use your debit card at foreign ATMs.

When you are getting ready to travel, you should attempt to pack as many dark-colored clothes as possible. Dark clothing tends to conceal dirt and wrinkles, both of which are a normal part of extended travel outside of your home environment. If you feel that dark colors are too dreary, you could bring lighter accessories to add to your look.
