Traveling with kids often prescribes that you become an expert yarner, comedian, actor, or sorcerer so as to keep peace and make the time pass quicker. These are some age appropriate tips for you to use on your next holiday trip. First of all if you have a baby or two, make journeys easier with a single or graco double snap and go stroller.

Babies enjoy looking at bright objects that have fascinating shapes, or are pop up tops, and also mirrors and rattles are favourite amusers as well.

Toddlers will be kept busy with hand puppets, shape sorters of all sorts, board books, musical toys (that will not irritate you), and plastic boxes that kid can easily open themselves and close. Keep play objects in them that aren't too little (choking). A coloring book and chubby crayons are good entertainment.

Pre-schoolers like to unwrap boxes that contain nice surprises for them to play with like magnetic number digits and letters on a metal tray, photo books, sweets to consume, or mirrors and preserved creatures.

Younger school-aged youngsters love to work with activity books that have stickers in them, felt boards, modeling clay, action figures or dolls and preserved creatures.

Older youngsters can use travel-size board games or hand-held portable games, magazines or books, or automobile games like finding certain state license plates or counting colored cars, or store signs. Kids have great imaginations and can sometimes entertain themselves on long automobile rides by playing these auto games like "I-Spy" - identifying something along the landscape that is a certain colour or shape.

It is a clever idea to take along music CDs or books on tape for hours of fun value. Some favored series are: Mad Sing Alongs, Infant Tunes, music by Joe Scruggs, Raffi or hits that you remember from The Beatles, or Broadway or Hitsville USA: The Motown Singles or a well-liked children group: Sharon, Louis and Bram. Taking a variety of music will provide help to spend the time not only for the kids but for the adults too. Audio books can be not only entertaining but learning experience as well particularly if you are traveling far and can find an audio book about your destination.
