Cambridge is a place that offers a broad spectrum of different attractions to a tourist. The place itself is the location of one of the top and best universities in the world with mesmerising views and surroundings. Cambridge not only attracts people for its educational prowess but is also famous for its museums, art galleries, theatres, events, historical buildings and many other aspects. A number of places that need special mentions have been brought up here.

If you were to ask anyone about their top list of things to do in Cambridge, they would start probably with punting. Punting in Cambridge became a popular activity many years ago and remains popular until the present day. There are a number of punt companies in Cambridge offering this service. One reason why people go punting on the Cam is so that they can have a tour around the eight most famous Cambridge University colleges. The Cambridge Colleges have a fascinating history and are among the most highly esteemed educational institutions in the world. Cambridge University is constituted of many colleges, about 30 of them in total, that one can stumble upon all throughout the city. The most popular and known of them are notoriously St John's College, King's College and Trinity College. Cambridge University is the second oldest university in the UK after Oxford in England, with its reputation spreading out to global proportions.

Apart from the magnificent architecture the visitor can also admire and enjoy the various types of nature that Cambridge offers, with its parks, rivers and gardens. These buildings were established in the 19th century. The Wimpole hall was the home of the daughter of Rudyard Kipling which is now manage by the National Trust. The Wimpole house farm established in the 16th century and located near the house is a model farm. Wimpole hall is situated 13 miles away from the farm and visitors can witness a country side village view walking if they can walk the entire 13 mile distance.

Last but not least is the University Museum of zoology, one of several different museums in Cambridge. This amazing place has lot of things to look at. The place has lot of bones from different animals like hippos, cats, dinosaurs and many other animals. The best thing about all this is that it is free so you really do not have to worry about stretching your budget. If you have every gone there, at the birds sections, you will be able to notice the two large kiwi bone samples which is amazing because kiwis are generally small in nature.

Cambridge is a wonderful place famous for its architectural beauty and the beautiful scenario of the city. It is a wonderful place to visit and explore with your family.
