The Right Wall Fountains for Your Home

By Alexander Robinson

When you are considering the purchase of wall fountains you will need to check that the one you are considering will fit into the place where it is going and will also look good. Normally the outdoor garden fountains are really big and expensive so you have to make sure you get the one that will boost your garden and is the right fit for your garden. For you to be able to make a wise choice here are several guidelines that can help you to come up with a decision on the right wall fountains for your garden or home.

Wall fountains are available in both horizontal and vertical designs. Various models are suitable for different locations. Large vertical wall fountains would look better in a room with a high ceiling. Wider wall vertical wall fountains may look inappropriate unless you hang other objects on the sides of the fountain. Horizontal wall fountains are more suitable on a long wall that has low ceiling. In a high ceilinged room horizontal wall fountains can appear much smaller than it really is. You would be advised to think about the depth of the wall fountains. In a narrow corridor or walkway this could be important though nearly all wall fountains are only about six inches deep so this generally won't be too much of a problem.

Find out the dimensions of the wall fountains you are considering to buy then measure it out where you will place it. Attach post-it notes or thumb tacks at each corner then stand back and look to find out if it looks good. Others prefer to use sticky tape to create an outline of the wall fountains to get better picture of how it will look once you hung it in place. In choosing the wall fountains the most important consideration is probably the width. You will also have to consider how high the wall fountain is if you want to put the fountain on a patio or under an arbour or other construction.

Garden wall fountains usually use water that is re-circulated and which should be replaced as it is lost by splashing and evaporation. The water pump circulates the water through the wall fountains. Most of the residential and office wall fountains are recirculation type. A basin holds the water and re-circulating wall fountains can be located anywhere a source of electricity is present. To avoid the damage on the pump and the reservoir the re-circulating wall fountains must be kept an eye on.

How often you will have to refill the reservoir depends on the humidity of the air where you have the wall fountains. The wall fountains in heated homes during the winter will need refilling quite often and preferably with small amounts of water than just letting the reservoir to nearly dry out before adding water. If you have house plants you can just simply top up the wall fountains every time you water them.
