Holiday To The Carnarvon Blowholes Western Australia

By Anton Maverick

The following leg of your trip along the Indian Ocean Road with Campervan Hire Perth will take you another five hours of driving north to Carnarvon where you may try tropical fruit. If you are up for another 70 kms, the Carnarvon Blowholes are impressive. You may go snorkelling in a close-by lagoon and then camp for the night.

From Carnarvon up to Exmouth is another 4.5 hours drive and Ningaloo Marine Park is waiting for you. You may either snorkel or take a ride in a glass bottom ship to see the amazingly colourful exotic fish and coral. If you're feeling brave, you may also swim with the whale sharks, watch the migrating humpbacks or the coral spawning.

The evening will have it's own pleasures with plenty of boutique eating multinationals in which to eat on fresh seafood. The day after can be devoted to exploring the Cape Range National Park which is inland from Exmouth. Here you'll find awesome ravines from which to view Exmouth Gulf. You can hike through the canyons and beneath there are some dazzling caves to explore. When you have had enough hiking, head back to Coral Bay for the evening.

Your destination for the next day is Shark Bay and it will take 7 hours to drive there, so it is best to make an early start. When you get there, take a small detour and visit some peculiar formed rocks, frequently known as sea stromatolites, which are actually rock domes and they seem like underwater stones. You'll spend 1 or 2 days at Shark Bay as there is so much to see.

Check out Shell Beach where there is not any sand, but rather, 100 kms of compressed shells, many feet deep. One of the highlights of your stay here will be to swim with the dolphins at Monkey Mia, so don't become too distracted by the shells. You'll think you have landed in a sea heaven with the many kinds of sea creatures you'll see here.
