Hotels In Cincinnati For Business And Leisure

By Eugenia Gilmore

Travelers seeking hotels in Cincinnati don't have to search far and wide. A majority of all the facilities for tourists are located around Fountain Square in the downtown area. But this is the 3rd biggest city in Ohio, and gets a lot of visitors of different types. This can have at least some impact on their choice of location.

The city's most important location is Fifth and Vine Street. The Fountain Square and Carew Tower here attract a huge number of visitors every year. It's no surprise that a so many lodging establishments are found here.

Just two blocks from here is the Duke Energy Convention Center. It's close enough that the 5th and Vine properties can serve conventioneers. But some of their needs are not the same as those of ordinary travelers. For instance, they usually expect a skywalk linking the hotel and the convention center.

Other desirable features in a business hotel include conference and meeting facilities. All things considered, there are three to four properties on Fifth and Sixth Streets that can fulfill these requirements. They are all located between the convention center and Fountain Square.

Of course, there's life beyond downtown too. Tourists these days seem to be taking a liking for the 'Over the Rhine' area. The location is full of historic German-American heritage landmark structures and is perfect for tourists with the proximity to the downtown core. A hotel in the OTR neighborhood located around Washington Park is likely to be an ideal base for a city tour.

Do not forget that Covington, Kentucky on the other side of the Ohio River is just a bridge crossing away. In essence, Covington establishments are just as convenient as hotels in Cincinnati. Travelers can sleep in one of the many riverside properties, wake up in the morning and go over the bridge to the Cincinnati downtown within minutes. hotels in cincinnati
