If you already made up your mind that you want to have your own BnB, then one of the things that you have to do first is to stay in one. When you have a scheduled trip, book for a room in a bed and breakfast instead of a hotel. This way, you can observe how things are being done more closely.

The next step would be arranging the documents and filing the paperwork. You have to do this to ensure that your business is legal in the eyes of the law. Go to the municipality and list down the documents that you need.

There will surely be a need to secure with the permits. And then you need to arrange your tax deductions and contributions since you will be opening your own business. Most importantly, you have to have the proper business license. You still have to apply for this as well.

The most number of rooms that you can have for this type of accommodation would be ten. If you have a bigger space in your home and you know that you can provide comfort to your guests, then by all means convert it. Just make sure that you are no longer using it. Expansion projects and home improvements can also be done.

However, you have to keep in mind that you would need time and finances to complete the renovations and the improvement projects. If you do not have the time, then you can just purchase a bed and breakfast space and do a little bit of retouch on the place. This is the easier option.
