How To Plan Your Own Destination Weddings Mexico

By Olivia Cross

Getting married can be an exciting time. It can also be very stressful because there is so much to do. Planning destination weddings mexico has its own challenges, because you must make all these plans in a foreign country that you may not know well. However, with the right planning, your wedding can be a success.

If you are planning to have your wedding there, you should tell your friends and bridal party about it before you ask them to be in the wedding. This gives them the chance to decline if they cannot afford to make the trip. They will have to book vacation time and plan their finances just as you do, so give them plenty of advance warning.

The area you choose can be based on your personal style and passions. After all, this is your special event. However, you should also consider what sort of activities your guests can do outside of the ceremony, since they are travelling all this distance. Perhaps they want to sightsee, or visit the Mayan pyramids. They may just want to relax and try some of the local Mexican cuisine.

Timing is also important. A popular vacation spot like this tends to attract many tourists. At the height of tourist season, you may experience more crowds and fewer hotel rooms available. This may cause complications when you need to accommodate your out of town guests. If you have a certain venue in mind, you will need to be sure that it is not booked up.

Of course, you also need to watch out for the higher rates. Many hotels and venues raise their prices during the height of tourist season. So if you choose to get married during this time, it is a good idea to reserve hotel room blocks and your venues as soon as possible. Send out your save-the-date notices at least ten to twelve months before the event so that your guests can arrange their travel and accommodations before the prices escalate.

If you choose to have the event right after the high season, this may save some money for you and your guests. If you are planning for the off-season, you will have fewer crowds to contend with, but you will need to be careful of the weather, since it can be very changeable. You also need to plan well during the off-season because many stores and venues may close up shop at this time.

It is a good idea to visit Mexico while planning your wedding. You should take at least one trip there, especially if you live far away in Alberta, Canada. Taking a trip there can help you to scout out venues, research hotels and locate local suppliers like florists, caterers and photographers.

Remember, organization is key. You want to enjoy your special day, so try not to stress too much over minor things. If you feel you need planning help, ask for it. Many people turn to competent planners who are used to these events and can help you get in touch with vendors for everything you need. Just make sure they are properly certified planners.
