By Marci Glover

Make your vacation easier by doing a little work ahead of time. Another idea is to save yourself headaches and go to Orlando Trip Planner on the internet and find all the information you need in one spot. Then you just have to get there and enjoy your time away from work and stress and make memories with the family.

Transportation is going to be one of the first things you will need to plan. You can save time and money by choosing to fly due to the high cost of auto fuel plus wear and tear on your vehicle. However, driving yourself means you can sight see along the way. Plus, once at your destination you will not be depending on others for transportation. Another option are trains. Any of these three can be a lot of fun and educational for the family. Just research the cost and time involved when making your decision.

You might plan to drive in a camper and stay at an RV park or you could spend one or two nights at a hotel or Bed and Breakfast. The best way to find a great place is to ask people you know that have been to that location, for suggestions. They can even tell you where to stay away from. Get on the internet and look for special rates then call and make your reservation.

Have at least one main point of interest you will want to visit on your trip. This is important even if you are more of an impulsive person. Again the internet will be helpful here. Look for points of interest for you and your family. Then once you are at your destination ask the locals at restaurants, the gas station, or grocery store. Locals always know of wonderful places that may not be well known.

Planning on conducting your own tour can be easier if you rent your own vehicle. Drive where you want, when you want, vacation on your own timeline. Once arriving at the airport or train station, you can pick up your car and possible get an upgrade for no additional cost. Also, stick with a well known and reputable firm. Do some research first to ensure the best deal possible.

You may have wanted to conduct your own tour of the location but then changed your mind once there. Not to worry, you can still join a group. A few questions to ask them are the maximum number of members they will take and how much time you will spend in a bus. Then if there is a specific event or place in the area find out if they offer a special tour that includes behind the scene visits.

When traveling with infants or children of any age, remember to take a portable crib, lots of baby food, toys, books, and games. Doing this will help keep children engaged and happy. Also, take any medications needed and have extras.

Planning your vacation can be easy with some early planning. Decide how you are going to get there and where you will stay. Check into tour groups, you can join them for one day if you prefer spending most of your time alone. Take along anything that will make traveling and staying over easier. Medications, special food items, books, games, and travel crib can make the stay a lot easier.
