See The Pyramids Of Egypt Tour

By Danielle Galloway

Almost all of the Pyramids of Egypt tour are a wonder to the modern man. They have been standing since about 2000 years before common era, and will be there for a thousand more years. These structures have lived through hundreds of generations, and outlasted several natural disasters. They are the only testament to the true powers of the ancient pharaohs.

The most popular pyramid would be the structures in Giza, near the outskirts in Cairo. There, the pyramid is near perfection, and is thought to be one of the biggest structures ever built in ancient history. It is a wonder to many, even scientists and archaeologists, how these wonders were built. Though they were mainly used as the Pharaoh's tomb, a lot of other worldly possessions of the pharaoh are stored in these buildings as well.

Imhotep is the architecture that all ancient Egyptians attribute their technology and ideology to. He was the one who conceived the notion of stacking steps on top of one another in successive and decreasing size in steps. He started the idea with building a wide base, and putting another layer right on top of it, but with a smaller floor area. He did this repeatedly until only one unit of area can be placed on top, thus creating a pyramid.

It was with the centralized power and resources that building monuments became possible at that time. The pharaohs spent all their time marking everything in the country with their own images and monuments, so that they will be immortalized in the minds of the people. Later on, the pharaohs were not as powerful anymore, so the monuments built during the later years were not as grand and monumental.

The general idea during the early years of the study of these structures was that they were built as burial monuments for the kings and pharaohs. However, the architecture inside and the way these structures were built suggest another purpose for these complicated buildings. They may have been designed as some kind of resurrection structure where the light of the night sky is directed towards the actual corpse of the pharaoh.

Another majestic structure that was discovered in the country is the sphinx. It is a giant structure that is composed of a woman's head on a lion's body. It has the wings of a giant bird that is spanned close to its body. In legendary and mythical stories, the sphinx is known to giving out great riddles to man. Whoever cannot answer her confusing riddles ended up being eaten by her.

The sphinx was built to house the tomb of Pharaoh Khafra's wife. It was known that she is one of the very few queens to have been worshipped as well. A lot of theories have risen as to why these two monuments were built so close to each other, if there was a science behind it, or some logic that ancient Egyptians knew of.

The Pyramids of Egypt tour are such wonderful marvels to see. Everyone is recommended to see it before they die because this structure represents the early intelligence the human species had. It will be such a humbling experience to witness these structures first hand and see what the human race is truly capable of.
