Cyprus Any Time of the Year

By Catherine McCulloch

Picking a place to go on holiday can sometimes we quite a struggle, especially if you're going on the off season. However, consider a trip to Cyprus, which caters to all types of travellers throughout the year.

If getting more for your hard earned cash is what you're after, you might take a look at travelling during the winter holidays. The BBC has rated Cyprus one of the best winter destinations to get a bit of R&R. Bargain holidays are abundant with prices significantly cheaper in the winter, with flights, hotel and villa rates sometimes half of the summer high season. The weather is warm and mild from January through February with a slightly higher chance of rain than the summer months, but even then it mostly falls at night.

With plenty of aquatic activities and remote islands to choose from, it's a great spot for your summer 2012 trip abroad. Restaurants and nightlife are also booming. This time of year sees Cyprus at its busiest, so if you find yourself looking for a bit of refuge, perhaps try a day-trip to the mountainous Troodos village for a local feel and traditional dining.

Adventurous travellers should go in the spring as the weather is a bit cooler if you're building up a sweat with a variety of activities. Whether you're exploring the historic fortresses, discovering the wildlife or visiting the local villages, temperatures will allow for you to stay out throughout the day as well and as its spring you'll be able to see the plant life and orange farms at their best.

The autumn is a bit quieter, with temperatures still warm during the day but a welcome relief in the evenings not granted in the summer. Water sports continue in the warm Mediterranean until about early November. As the months leading up to Christmas time are not as busy as the summer months, you'll also be able to make the most of bargain prices and a quieter stay.
