Choosing Edinburgh as a city break destination will involve selecting the same criteria as you would use for any other city break in the world.

You may be lucky enough be visiting Edinburgh during an event and even be able to attend one. Obviously the most famous event is the Military Tattoo which takes place every August. Other events include music Concerts as well as popular music events with some of the worlds most famous bands.

The magnificent Scottish Parliament building is a popular attraction and they run tours throughout the day for visitors. Nearby is Dynamic Earth an attraction that offers an educational view of the planet but in a fun way.

There is a big choice of accommodation and hotel options available in Edinburgh which include small family run bed and breakfasts and low cost youth hostels to the very best in five star accommodation. The better accommodation tends to be in the more central locations however you get what you pay for.

If you are planning on a short break in Edinburgh during the really busy times such as in August or at New Year make sure you book in advance so you get the best prices and actually might get accommodation.
