Many people have found that blogging is a great way to learn about travel and adventure. They check in often to see how the bloggers are doing and where they are located. Home schooling parents find that blogs are a fun and inspiring way to teach geography. The children are fascinated by the adventures of youngster similar to themselves spending months on board a small boat and taking on many new responsibilities.

Following the everyday lives of others is really fun and entertaining. However, when people do something really different their pages become really popular. A family sailing around the world blog is not only entertaining, but can also be educational. Teachers and home schooling parents will really be able to do a lot with this type of blogging.

Making the decision to pack up the family and sail around the world is not one to be undertaken lightly. The parents must have good nautical skills and be experienced sailors. Crossing the great oceans, particularly the Atlantic and Pacific, really puts many obstacles in the path of every captain. They must keep a careful eye on the weather at all times as it can change in a matter of moments. Modern technology can really help and the vessel should be equipped with radar and cell phones.

Blogging is a great way to express thoughts and feelings in an informal way. The writer can add notes of humor as well as interesting information, concerns and observations. One of the nicest things about following a blog is to see how things change as time goes on. People may start out optimistic and excited by end up sad and disillusioned. If they trip is fraught with problems tempers can flare quickly and arguments become common.

Sailing around the world is a once in a life time adventure. The family will have spent years planning their voyage and getting together all the supplies they need. Each trip is totally unique in route and approach. Some people plan to take years and make many stops, others have a set amount of time in which they must finish their journey.

As the trip progresses the blog will reflect everything from the weather conditions to the mood of the crew. Having to live in cramped conditions for long periods of time can bring out either the best or worst in most people. It will be a time of readjustment and compromise. Readers will quickly pick up on tensions between members of the family and how they are resolved.

Getting this range of perspectives is another aspect of blogging that makes it so fun to read. Individual thoughts really help to bring a uniquely human insight to the writing. People are often willing to share their fears with the readers and open up their hearts and emotions. A well written and engaging blog will have follows around the world. Not only are the readers interested but also concerned about the well being of the family.
