Don't Travel Without Looking At These Important Tips!

By Michael Cromwell

Avoid having to exchange currency with a bank when you travel to a different country. You can get foreign currency using an easier method. A better way to obtain currency in the new country is by using ATM machines. The ATM and banks offer the going rate of exchange without the fees, and even with the service charge it is usually less expensive than going to the currency exchange.

When you travel, you always need to keep up with your belongings. Carry your handbag tucked securely under your arm. In addition, try to avoid bags that have an easy-access zipper that someone might be able to unzip easily on a subway or crowded public transit area. When you are buying a bag keep these things in mind.

Always tip the housekeeper and bell station. You should tip the bell hop around one dollar per bag that they carry. You can almost guarantee that you will have a pleasurable stay by doing so.

Anytime you are going to be driving to a different city before going on a cruise, check to see if there is a hotel that has fee parking, and get there the night before. Ask hotel staff about any parking deals if there aren't any published.

Sometimes the best vacation locations are right around the corner. Sometimes, you can have just as much fun vacationing close to where you live or in a neighboring state. You will spend less money traveling if you stick close to home and support the local economy. Many great places to visit are right in your own 'backyard'.

Switch drivers often when traveling by car. If you drive too much, the other driver will be forced to stay awake alone while you sleep. Try not to drive to the point of exhaustion. It will keep you and your passengers safe. You should have someone replace you at the wheel every three hours. This will keep you from getting over-tired on the road and putting you and your passengers at risk.

Bottled water is a necessity if you are visiting a foreign country. Drinking water in a foreign country can lead to stomach problems. Also, when you are brushing your teeth, use the bottled water. You can also become ill from tap water.

Some travel sites offer an e-tracking option.
