Three paradise islands in Thailand

By Stefan Stevenson

1. Koh Lanta - perfect for the family

Koh Lanta is a beautiful and relaxed tropical island. In Sweden Koh Lanta is called the Swedish island, and it is true a lot of Swedes do come here and tend to stay for a long time or come back year after year.

There is even a Swedish school making it possible to stay as long as you want without sacrificing your kids education. At Koh Lanta you can find accommodation no matter of your budget, from five star hotels to cheap bamboo huts right on the beach. You get to Koh Lanta by boat either from Phuket or Krabi.

2. Koh Phangan - get ready to party

Koh Panghan is the island of party, backpackers and party again. Probably not the best choice if you are not into the partyscene and definetely not if you are planning to go there during the "full moon party" week of the month.

But if you are ready to party all night with a cool mix of travellers from every corner of the earth, then this is a good place. If you do arrive here on one of the three more quiet weeks of each month, you can enjoy beautiful beaches and a more relaxed wibe. Koh Pangan has accomodation from really cheap up to luxury. You get here by boat from Ko Samui or Surat Thani.

3. Koh Jum - unexploited and extremely relaxed

Just north of Koh Lanta is Koh Jum, a much, much more relaxed island than Koh Phangan. Here you can experience a true paradise island with fantastic beaches and no nightlife or party.

There are only around ten different places to stay and they are all cheap and simple living style bungalows. The easiest way to get here is by boat from Krabi.
