I will be the first to admit that the ecomonmy can have an effect on everything right now. But I still feel we need to enjoy our lives. I can't say how bad it will get, but I can say we should do things while we can.
Travel agents, hotels, airlines, everyone is cutting their prices to rock bottom to bring travelers in. I think this is a prime opportunity. Right now is probably the best time in a long time that you can get a great deal. It is better to just go do it now, instead of dwelling on it later when you can't.
I see it every day, there are great deals out there as you read this. You will be so disappointed in the future if you miss out on them. Right now is the time to book some travel and get out. Even if it is just a few days somwhere, that is better than sitting at home.
One thing we can say for sure is nobody knows what the economy will be like in 6 months to a year. It could go either way at this point. The fact is, however, life is too short to do nothing. I don't want people to blow their savings accounts that they might need to travel, but if you have a little extra money you might as well enjoy it, you will spend it elsewhere anyway, right?
Things will probably be about the same upon your return so you might as well get a way for a while and relax. I would be willing to bet you will feel much better when you get back. I don't think there is anything wrong with cutting corners and finding a budget deal, I do thing that wishing you would have went though is wrong.
