The Importance Of Horseback Riding Private Lessons

By Ruthie Calderon

At our leisure time it is good that we engage in activities that will help us relax and unwind and at the same time make us enjoy our free time. Activities such as dancing, playing tennis, hockey or soccer, swimming or watching movies not only helps us in enjoying but also develop our body and mind as they are a form of exercise. Some people go to the extent of seeking training for these activities in order to become experts and that is why some find the importance of horseback riding private lessons.

Horseback riding can be simply defined as using a horse to move from one place to the other by sitting on its back. Or it can be defined as a sport where a person sits on its back and controls its movement. During sports, it is engaged mostly in racing and its preferred by people because it can race fast and controlling it is easy.

Anyone can take these lessons, this include; adults and children. As for children who are under the age of six years; it is required they ride under the care of somebody that is their mom or dad or the coach because they cannot be able to control the horse by themselves. The lessons go for the whole week for some hours especially for young riders, first timers and those who want specific instructions as compared to expert riders.

There are a lot of benefits that people get through this kind of sport or activity. They are; it helps in coordination and stability; when the rider balance it provides stability and the strength used in the thigh and leg develops coordination. Another benefit is that a relationship starts developing between the horse and the rider; when the rider rides it more often, a strong relationship and trust is developed.

The last benefit among many other benefits is that self-esteem, courage and confidence is created on the rider. This happens when riders overcome the challenge of riding a horse especially if she or he is a first time rider and this gives him/her the will to want to overcome any new challenge that may come on his or her way.

However risks are involved. Risks that might occur when a horse races fast than it was expected and makes the rider fall due to losing control or becoming dizzy or falling because the horse become frightened of something on its way.

These incidents can cause serious and permanent injuries on an individual both physically and mentally like in a case where the person becomes confined to a wheelchair as a result of race with the horse. The individual becomes traumatized to the extent of causing fear when he or she comes close to this animal.

Though risks are there the likelihood of them occurring are minimal while the benefits are guaranteed that is why a first timer should not think so much of the risks rather concentrate on the benefits especially if they are under the care of an expert. All they need to do is wear the right clothes and know what to do in case something happens.
