Revel In The Sweet Existence In Boca Raton Florida

By Jozy Mozen

If the rat race is getting you down, it may be time to change your life. A great place for starting over and living a more relaxed, healthier lifestyle is Boca Raton Florida. Even if you only want a place to escape to every once in a while, this city may be the answer.

The city of Boca Raton lies to the north of Miami in the southeast of the Florida peninsula. It is part of Palm Beach County. Located between West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale, it's not only a popular holiday destination but also a great place to relocate to if you want to retire or live a more relaxed lifestyle.

The climate is typical for South Florida. In other words, it's hot and humid in summer and pleasantly warm and sunny in winter. The summer months experience rain, usually in the form of quick thunderstorms that actually offer welcome relief from the heat. Hurricanes are a risk, though.

If you're looking for culture and history, you'll find it in the seaside city. Long before people of European descent moved in, Native Americans lived in the area and one of their burial mounds can still be seen. Art lovers shouldn't miss the local art museum and if you have kids, take them to the children's museum. Another museum to visit is the Sports Immortals Showcase Museum. The Caldwell Theatre Company is a local institution too.

If you love the outdoor lifestyle, you've come to the right place. Golf courses and beaches abound. Go snorkeling at Red Reef Park or head out onto the open ocean for some fishing or sailing. Go walking, jogging or cycling in one of the local parks. You'll also find facilities like basketball or tennis courts, water parks and jungle gyms where the kids can get active too.

There is no shortage of places to shop at, from big malls to quaint little shopping centers. Take some time for a relaxing spa treatment and have a meal at one of the city's many restaurants. There's an eatery for you whether you prefer ethnic food or would rather have gourmet seafood dishes. The local restaurants cater for different budgets too. Boca is not known as a party destination and its bars and nightclubs are scattered throughout the city, with a neighborhood feel to them. However, music stars often play at one of the amphitheaters or other live music venues so you won't have to feel that you're missing out.

With many celebrities living here, Boca is quite an affluent city. Real estate varies from apartments and condos to luxury mansions in some of the world's most expensive gated communities. Before you buy, you may want to rent first. There is also a good selection of resorts and hotels for shorter stays.

Before you take the plunge and relocate to Boca Raton, it's best to spend some time here. See whether you like the Boca Raton lifestyle and whether you'll be able to survive financially. Check the local job market or do proper research before investing all your savings in a business venture in a new city. Then get ready to enjoy the good life.
