Discounts For Las Vegas Attractions

By Marilyn Martin

Family-friendly and Las Vegas are not the first things one would associate with one another ever since the latter got the reputation of being called the "Sin City". But the city cannot be accused of being predictable and in this regard it has proven once again its shock-value with its long and vast offerings of fun and friendly activities for the whole family especially for the kids. Also save on family-friendly activities with Old Town Trolley coupon code to visit museums and other major attractions. MIRAGE Hotel and Casino - The man-made VOLCANO ERUPTION is a sight to behold with fire and lava spewing from the volcano set amidst a pool of water. The whole show uses the creative display of light and sounds with tribal music in the background and could be the closest that the family can get to a volcano while in action. Erupting nightly, it is also for free.

The Fountain Show At Bellagio

With nightfall comes the fountain shows at Bellagio. In the massive pool of water on the Strip side of the casino, illuminated spirts of water dance to a variety of music, popular, classical and even opera. They usually operate every 15 minutes (check with the casino to ensure), with a different song and show each time. Every night, in front of Treasure Island on the Strip, a battle takes place between sexy sirens and renegade male pirates. There are usually four identical kid friendly shows nightly. Get there early for best viewing (especially if you are vertically challenged). Stand close and you could get a bit wet.

NEW YORK NEW YORK LAS VEGAS HOTEL and CASINO - The ROLLER COASTER is not the same the world over. And here in Las Vegas this ride takes the scream-value a notch higher with the famous "heartline" twist.

The GRAND CANYON - When the family wants to flex some muscles and stretch their legs a bit, they might want to venture farther away from the hotel to experience the grandest spectacle of all: The Grand Canyon. Massive, magnificent, great; words are not enough to describe its beauty and watching the sunrise and sunset there at least once in one's lifetime is definitely well worth the effort. Check out the Visitor's Center for ranger-guided activities, camp fires, fossil walks and full moon walks that the more adventurous nature-lovers can choose from. MANDALAY BAY Hotel - SHARK REEF AQUARIUM with the "Dive with Sharks" Program for the kids, offer a magnificent display of all sorts of sharks alongside with giant sting rays, green sea turtles, saw fishes, piranhas, jelly fishes and even a rare golden crocodile set in a 22-foot deep shipwreck exhibit. Admission for kids 5-12 years of age is USD 12. Below this age is free.

MGM GRAND - LION HABITAT is where the famous roaring lions are of which MGM is known for. Viewable from a glass partition, the lions are reared in a 8.5-acre ranch 12 miles away from MGM. The exhibit is free, compliments of MGM. CSI: The Experience is for the detective and crime-solver enthusiasts and it portrays interactive challenges, based on the hit TV show CSI, that features 3 murders, 15 lab stations, 15 suspects and 3 killers. Recommended for 12 years old and up. Younger kids need to be accompanied by adults. Admission rates are USD 28 and USD 21, respectively.

CIRQUE DU SOLEIL is theatre and circus in one. Some of their shows have even intertwined compelling storytelling together with all the elements that they are known for, e.g. acrobatics, martial arts, puppetry, like in their blockbuster hit of recent years "Ka". Not to be missed!

There are many, many other free attractions in Las Vegas. Attractions that are changed often to ensure the city remains fresh, exciting and a frugal traveler's paradise.
