Top 5 Things To Ask At North Florida Campgrounds

By Cathy Mercer

Many people are looking for a way to relax and get closer to nature. Camping is one way to achieve this. These top 5 things to ask at North Florida Campgrounds will help you plan a successful trip.

The type of camping you plan on doing is going to help determine where you stay. For the back to nature experience, National Parks and Indian Reservations have sites available. Often there are basic cabins available for rent or traditional tent sites.

If planning to pitch a tent there are a few things to think about first. If you want to be close to the showers or bathrooms, ask for a spot close by. However, doing this may mean there will be lots of foot traffic around your spot and you may lose some privacy. Do ask if your site will be on level ground, or off a path. Also, will there be a picnic table, running water, and fire ring at your site.

Another option when choosing a campground is one close to a theme park or points of interest such as fishing, boating, water skiing, or great hiking trails. Many of these facilities will have activities planned for visitors such as tours and games. A person can also expect to find bicycles and boats for rent, a swimming pool to cool off during the day and a hot tub to warm up in at night.

A camper will also be able to find different options on where they will stay. There are tent sites, simple one room cabins, and deluxe cabins that have multiple rooms, separate bedrooms, kitchen, a bath, and climate control. More and more of these locations are making available yurts, wall tents, teepees and a train caboose.

Parks, Reservations, and campgrounds almost all allow RV camping. When planning a trip, you need to find out if you can back in or pull through your spot. Very important to know is if the site is large enough for your rig to fit. Make certain there are water, sewer, and electrical hookups unless you do not need or want it.

Here are a few more basic things to always find out while planning where you will stay. Ask if there is a store where you can replace your supplies and can you purchase any license or permits that may be required for activates such as hiking or fishing. You also need to know if there are any requirements for your length of stay, the number of people in your group, the number of vehicles allowed, and if pets are allowed. Also, how much are the fees and what is included or excluded in that price.

Many people are choosing to spend their vacation getting back to nature. The options vary from a Spartan and basic experience all the way to a lavish stay in a tree house, yurt, wall tent, or train caboose. It is important to research first before making reservations. Use these 5 tips on what to look for at North Florida Campgrounds as a starting point for planning your next vacation.
