In addition to establishing the first colonies, this area was home to many firsts including the college William and Mary and Eastern State Hospital. This hospital is the United States first mental hospital. It's also the home of many battles such as the Revolutionary war and the Civil war.

Located in the middle of the historic triangle, visitors will enjoy Jamestown as well as Yorktown. Linked by the National Park Service's bucolic Colonial Parkway, this area is considered the world's most popular tourist destination. Filled with excitement, the Williamsburg tourism center can provide information about local shows, events, re-enactments as well as other holiday-themed events.

Outlined in beauty, the town is encircled by the Queen and Creek River and spread across the ridge of the James and York River. In 1771, as technology emerged, the first canal was built connecting Archer's Creek to Queen Creek. Currently, still making history, the area's citizens have celebrated the 300th anniversary of the first Episcopal Church in Virginia.

Providing entertainment for the entire family, Busch Gardens is located only miles from the town's center. Filled with thrilling rides, water parks, and shows, there's never a dull moment. Packed with adventure, the family will be too tired to drive home. Luckily there are hotels near Busch Gardens, Williamsburg with competitive prices.
