Off Shore Fishing Is A Fun Experience

By Alta Alexander

Depending on where one enjoys fishing different equipment will be needed. With off shore fishing, all heavy duty equipment as well as large and heavy bait are needed. The in-shore tackle will be lighter and the bait could either be alive or dead.

In-shore fishing is when one is on a boat and is in sight of land. The water is only about thirty meters deep and fishing can be done on a small cabin cruiser, an inflatable, row boat or even a dinghy. These boats are all small enough to be transported on a trailer and are much cheaper than the off shore boats. The most popular choice of late is the kayak as it is very stable on water and is made of some very tough materials.

There are many different kayaks that one can choose and the first is the Fluid Bamba. It is made for both off shore as well an inland fishing. It has a large forward centre hatch and is made from a very durable plastic, Polyethylene. This little hatch is big enough to keep all tackle as well as rods of one and a half meters long, safe and dry.

The deeper waters off Cape Point are one of the best areas worldwide that have the Yellowfin Tuna. They come from an undersea canyon about forty miles off-shore and are plentiful in October until late June. They are how ever being caught year round and weight a massive twenty five to one hundred kilograms. They have gained a reputation as being one of the strongest fighting fish in the ocean.

The Yellowfin Tuna Trolling Package Combos include six all roller rods as well as six ballyhoo rigs. Also included is the Sea Witch Ballyhoo Skirt assorted pack and this all comes to six thousand dollars as well with a saving of six hundred dollars. Each kit will be customized to fit each individuals needs.

It weights about thirty kilograms and the length is three hundred and eighty five centimetres and eighty four centimetres in width. The weight it is able to carry is a massive two hundred kilograms and it comes in blue, light green, yellow and orange. The Angler version of this one comes fitted with three additional rod holders and a bungee cord at the back.

For deep sea fishing the harpoon is a very valuable tool to have. The harpoons design has a rigid lightweight shaft with a high weight power head. The shaft is easy to aim as well as handle and the power head is used for accuracy and has very good penetration at any depth. The shaft is only made from one inch aluminum but can handle tremendous pressure from any large fish.

Fishing of this sort is a lot more dangerous than the shallower version and the person will need to have a good knowledge of the weather patterns as well as the safety precautions. It is not advised that beginners start here as experience is crucial. Many prefer to go on larger vessels for safety but others still enjoy the peacefulness on a small boat.
