Add More Convenience To Your Vacation By Taking The Orlando Airport To Port Canaveral Shuttle

By Etta Bowen

If you love going on trips but loathe the planning that goes along with it, a cruise is just the vacation option for you. You don't have to worry about arranging accommodation, finding things to do or places where you can eat or catching transport to the next destination, since these are all included in the trip. The only thing you have to worry about is getting to the port from where the cruise departs. However, even this can be incredibly easy. If you're going to cruise the Caribbean, take that extra hassle out of the vacation too with the help of an Orlando Airport to Port Canaveral shuttle.

Port Canaveral is one of the world's busiest ports for cruise ships. For many Caribbean cruises, this is where your voyage will start and end. It's located less than an hour's drive from the region's major airport, which is located in the city of Orlando, FL.

The port is located on Cape Canaveral in Brevard County. The Cape is of course most famous for the Kennedy Space Center and the launching pad for space shuttles. It's a good idea to arrive a day or two before your cruise so that you can explore the Space Coast, especially if you have children. Visit the Space Center and then take a short trip to Titusville's Unites States Astronaut Hall of Fame.

If you prefer firmer ground, you may want to spend some time at the idyllic Cocoa Beach, only a few miles away. This resort city is a favorite among surfers but is also loved by those who just want to laze on a long, wide sandy beach. Turtles come to nest here and there are several protected areas nearby, including a manatee sanctuary. If you want to acclimatize to the motion of the ocean before your voyage, go on a boat trip and try some fishing.

To really enjoy the Space Coast, you need to spend at least several days here. Therefore, don't simply go straight from the airport to your cruise ship. Instead, book a few nights at one of the many accommodation options near the port.

Once you've returned from the Caribbean, don't let the fun end just yet. Take some time to explore the attractions around Orlando too. Your kids will definitely want to visit some of the famous theme parks here, such as Walt Disney World, SeaWorld and the Universal Resort. You'll find fascinating museums in the region too.

As one of the Sunshine State's most visited destinations, Orlando has everything to make a visitor feel welcome and spoiled. Accommodation options abound and you'll also find plenty of places where you can enjoy a good meal, a drink and maybe some live entertainment. The city is a golfer's paradise and has many other sporting facilities too and the shopping is excellent.

Getting around in the area is easy and you don't necessarily have to hire a car. There's an excellent public transport system and even along the Space Coast you can reach most attractions by bus. Alternatively, rent a bike and enjoy the sunny weather before catching your flight home.
