St Croix Vacation Rentals Where Dreams Begin

By Dawn Williams

The US Virgin Islands are located at the northern tip of the Caribbean Island chain. If you have an atlas handy look immediately to the right of Puerto Rico to find these islands. It has often been said that this is as close to a perfect holiday destination as you are likely to get, surely this gives an indication as to why so many people look at St Croix vacation rentals. Imagine, an island that provides something for everyone.

So whether you are looking to get married here, or just honeymoon there are few more romantic spots. By renting a villa you can be assured that you will have all the privacy that you deserve. Married couples also return to the islands again and again. Even whole families choose to take a break here, some will opt to stay in one of the many beach front areas whereas others prefer the hillside regions.

There's always so much to do on the islands, and your time can be as busy or as relaxed as you choose. Whatever you decide, the weather is going to be fine. Almost everyday there is going to be sunshine and the average temperature is a very pleasant high 80F. Throughout the year there is only a 10% chance of rain.

With these weather conditions its not surprising that there are some stunning sunsets. Of course the best place to watch these are from the beach. You have to decide which beach as there are plenty of them.

With the island not being huge the travel arrangements are numerous. There are the normal taxis, car and bike hire services. Perhaps you like the idea of being sailed from one end of the island to the other. There is also the horseback option to consider, and for those with plenty of energy there are marked hiking trails.

How you choose to spend your day is entirely up to you. Maybe time spent on a white sand beach is your idea of heaven, some beaches are a lot more secluded than others. Maybe you would also like to try scuba diving on one of the many diving excursions, just think of shipwrecks, clear water and stunning sea-life. You could also take in a round of golf should you wish. Then there are also the guided tours that take in the rain forest areas.

Like the majority of these Caribbean islands there is always a varied history to interest people. This will go from before the Carib Indians settled this island to Christopher Columbus visiting. Then there were the first foreigners who created settlements there, most notably the English and the Dutch. With the aid of sugar the island rapidly became one of the richest in the Caribbean. Even today it is possible to explore one of the old sugar plantations, or the old island capital of Christiansted.

The only thing that is missing is you. The food is wonderful, and as part of the US Virgin Islands there is not a problem with the language. So you could do an awful lot worse than to plan St Croix vacation rentals for your next break. Look up the island's web cam to see what you are missing.
