Vacation Packing Advice For Women

By Mark Walters

For a lot of people, their summer vacation is the highlight of their year, and with good reason: it's a time for sun, sea and sand with no need to worry about work or other stresses. Make your vacation even less stressful with our guide to handy items to take with you. Such as your passport, which is vital if you're going abroad. You should also remember to take lots of sun block with you so you don't burn, otherwise things could end up being a bit painful.

Polo shirts are another really good item to take with you as they're suitable for both the beach and for trips out. The light fabric is really breathable, meaning you shouldn't sweat too much when it's hot and the fact they come with a collar is great as it means you can turn it up to protect the back of your neck against the sun. Light colors such as pastel shades work really well here as they'll help reflect the sun and keep you cool.

When you're trying to decide exactly what to pack for your summer vacation, a sarong should be near the top of your list. They're cute and feminine, and you can choose some great sequined offerings or perhaps one with a cool tie-dyed batik effect. Sarongs fold up really small meaning they don't take up much room in your luggage and they also work really well as a makeshift skirt or cover up on the beach to make sure you don't get burned.

A few light dresses should also form part of your staple vacation wardrobe as they look great on everyone and are easy to wear. Try and stick to light colors as these will reflect the light instead of absorbing it, helping to keep you cool and dress appropriately for hot weather. The skirt part will also help to keep you cool and they're a really versatile item as they're suitable either for going out or wearing down to the beach.

Finally, make sure you take some good cover ups with you so you can properly protect yourself from the sun and avoid skin damage. It's a really good idea to take some light, loose cotton tops with you that you can throw on over the top of swimwear to protect your shoulders. A kaftan is a really good example of this as they're light and come in a range of lengths and colors so you can choose one that suits your style as well as your needs.
