Importance Of Bhutan Cultural Tours In Education

By Kevin Howard

The educational curriculum should consider incorporating traditional trips as part of the learning experience. Students need to understand the difference in the cultural heritage of different ethnic groups within the society. Despite the knowledge that they gain from the classroom they should have sessions to also experience the practical part. They will get exposed to the real world through the Bhutan cultural tours and understand both the tangible and intangible involved.

The exposure is necessary to also increase their ability to reason beyond the immediate environment. Understanding the different cultures of other students helps reduce the racial sensitivity among learners. The pupils are also motivated to take part in activities that help in promoting their traditional heritage thus displaying their unique traditional features. The article outlines some of the reasons why the traditional trips are important in education.

During the trips, most of the communities will showcase their traditions, crafts, and customs with the learners. This is one way that the community can use to preserve their culture. Due to the great influence of technology and globalization, it is not easy to maintain the traditional heritage. Heritage preservation is important for the next generation. The students get to familiarize with the belief and traditions of that particular community and their way of life.

Most people will agree that making a friend in a new environment where there is a language barrier can be challenging. However, making friends will also be determined by the passion that they share a common interest. During the trips, the students can also interact with the locals, therefore, increasing the chances to make new friends. This is important especially for the national cohesion and appreciating each community.

Through the exposure, the students get to respect the difference between the cultures. Understanding the cultures of other people is necessary for students. In most cases, children will mock others because of their cultures. However getting the chance to experience and be a part of them is a different angle. The learners get to learn and appreciate the cultures of other students. At the time it is amazing to notice that some of them will even get interested in some cultures.

Another advantage of their traditional trips is their ability to reinforce the knowledge gained from the classroom. The students will get the opportunity to ask relevant questions regarding the origin and development of a particular ethnic society. Through this they acquire information through the stories told. This is also one way of killing the curiosity that learners get after learning different cultures.

Students also need to be able to make new and long lasting memories while with their friends. They get to visit places that they have only had in their classes or other people in order to experience the traditional diversity. Students also take part in some of the traditional songs and dance. Furthermore, they are taught the importance of teamwork since in most cases they will be required to work in groups.

The study trips can be a great way to learn about the different cultures and the similarities between certain traditions. Students are able to view certain issues in a different perspective. This fosters better understanding of these cultures and makes them appreciate the other traditions.
