The Essential Tips In Training For Kilimanjaro

By Anthony Richardson

If you want to take on the highest summit you really need to exert a lot of effort in preparing for it so that you would be able to achieve success. Most climber takes months just to ensure that their stamina and endurance is well prepared. With that said, you should not just prepare yourself but also the materials and resources needed.

Before you get all geared up there are just some few reminders that should be prioritized and remembered to secure your safety and protection. Every climber knows the challenges and risks of the activity that is why you need to take part in training for Kilimanjaro to give you some much needed advice and tips. The article below lists some of them.

Practice Hiking. You should get some experience before taking such a huge step towards one of the most crucial summits. Most of the professional hikers would suggest to take short walks and running so that you can prepare for the long haul. It would actually be more helpful to take a few months of training before you start the climb.

Get a Medical Check Up. The most important factor that should always be included and must be prioritized is getting the go signal from the doctors. You need to go through a full medical check up to ensure that your body can take the rigorous process of climbing the mountain. It is also necessary to get immunized and vaccinated to prevent getting infections along the route.

Pack the Right Equipment. Of course, you really have to be geared up in this case because it takes a lot of preparation so that this would be a success. However, you should also not overdo and over pack because that would only pull your weight down. As much as possible you just have to bring the necessary gears and equipment.

Mental Preparation. Along with physical preparedness you also need to manage your mental strength to bring you to the finish line. There are some climbers who would back down from the climb because of thoughts that they could not make it or something else. You should take some mind conditioning lessons that will keep you alert and focus with the challenge.

Carry Energy Bars. Another significant factor is to stock enough chocolate and energy bars to give you the boost of stimulation that you need. Your body needs to get the energy it requires to keep going and you should not compromise your health in this situation to prevent any unlikely situation. This is as good as any protein bar you could get.

Go Slow. The more you hurry the pace of your trek the more exhausted you will be way before you reach the summit. Just stake it slow and take deep breaths so that your movements will be in perfect synchronization. When you are in high altitude locations it might cause you some difficulties and it would be better to take proper precautions.

Taking on such a huge challenge is really risky but at the same time wonderfully exhilarating once you finish the climb. It just takes so much courage and preparation for you to see the end of it but the reward is really worth it. This will give you so much renewed energy and motivation to go on despite the difficulties and risks.
