Ancient Fleur De Lis And Its Color Meanings

Stories do last. When they last, they become history. It is the way where you can be able to have the ability to have something worthwhile. Traditional times became a great part of our being because it started out what and who we are now. And, the same applies with little details we tend to disregard these days including simple symbols.

But, if you are a curious type of person, then you would have probably heard about the symbols used in the past. Like the ones fleur de lis New Orleans used, its symbol started out deeper if you would venture its historical background. Its name refers to a stylized lily or lotus. This was treated with great ardor for most people who believed in its deep meaning.

You see, there are numerous meanings meant for this, but there are only a few known ones. Like how French monarch in the old times valued its symbolism as they believed that the anointing of Clovis as King was given straight from the authority of God. And, the image of such appeared, making it of great meaning to them.

However, some believed that tears that fell down from the eyes of Eve became lily flowers, creating another meaning. Also, Ancient Egyptians also considered it as a sign having a meaning, Tree of Life. In addition, Greeks believed as the flower that Hera, the Greek moon goddess own. Whatever their perceptions are, there is more, especially with its colors. Find out some meanings in the following.

Silver, white, black or gold. These are colors that depicts the emphasis of authority and wealth. It is what traditional people consider it so. But, what it meant to some is different. For example, silver and white were referred as the symbolization of peace and sincerity. It can otherwise be considered as a symbol for purity. However, black for grief, gold signifies generosity and intelligence.

Maroon and red. These two colors are almost the same when you first take a look at it. The only difference they have is with how intense is their darkness is from each other. To distinguish it, maroon is always at the darker side, which means, patience towards the journey of victory over battle. And, red, the color of love, means mark of a fighter and a martyr.

Purple and blue. You see, these colors are distinctive in their own ways. Both plays an important role in history, especially with the lotus like symbol, which is called a fleur de lis. The blue one acts as the symbol of real value for truth and loyalty, while purple signifies royalty, justice and majesty. And, both acts as the standpoint of the definition of service and leadership.

Green. They say, this is the color good for your eyes. Yes, it may be true. But, what is even truer than that is how it keeps in its surroundings more alive as much as the lively disposition of nature. It has been natural for it to provide what it means. It was said to be a symbolization of hope, joy and loyalty in love. Thus, it comprises the basics of living a real fulfilling life.
