By Shawn Hunter

Each and every person has some sport or event that he/she likes most to do for a pastime. If you love horses therefore, horse riding is for you. It is a rewarding and interesting sport that anybody at whatever age can enjoy all the time. However, this game is not as famous as other games which are well and commonly known by everybody therefore to be an expert you need to undergo some horse riding lessons.

However enjoyable it can be, riding brings with it a lot of physical and mental difficulties on its way. To come out of these, it is necessary for you to have self devotion to it as it may take a lifetime to become a good rider. Despite the fact that this game has been existing for so long, few people know about it including the well set rules or guidelines that although challenging, are understood with ease.

The most basic factor to begin with is to establish a relationship between you and the horse. This is elemental as a horse requires detailed one to one instructions as you ride. Horses take instructions from you as stated. This may be a bit challenging for beginners but with time you are going to learn and perfect it. In addition, you have to follow specific guidelines so as to learn easily and avoid any dangers associated with riding.

Personal safety Is key and should be your priority concern before you start to ride. This involves putting on long pants that are comfortable, well fitting sturdy shoes with minimal heel and a riding helmet that perfectly fits your head. All this put together is referred to as a horse riding gear. Short pants should be avoided since your exposed part of the leg will be rubbed by the horse during its movements.

Mounting to the horse is the next step after ensuring your safety. It is the process of approaching our horse which is usually done from the left in other terms, the near side. While approaching, do it stealthily ensuring this horse is aware that you are approaching. To climb on a horse, place your left foot on the stirrup and by holding onto the saddle, swing your right leg above the horse and tenderly land on the saddle.

Create a balance on your horse by looking straight forward and keeping your back and shoulders straight. You should then hold the reins properly like your giving a thumbs up and firmly then prepare for a ride. You start riding by squeezing the horse with your heels and say 'walk' for this horse to start going. Gently, Move up and down in the saddle maintaining the rhythm of the animal.

To turn the horse to different directions, press your left calf into this horse to turn right; your right calf to the left. Make the animal slow down by smoothly squeezing your thighs on the horse and shouting 'whoa' and by pulling back on reins, this horse will stop.

Last but not least, dismounting this horse involves taking off your feet from the stirrup beginning with the left and swing it above a horse. To make a landing without difficulty, bend your knees. You should consider the above for a perfect riding lesson.
