All About Lomi Lomi Massage

Lomi Lomi is another name for the Hawaiian massage technique. It originated in Hawaii and is considered to be the most traditional and ancient method used till this date. The Lomi Lomi massage is based on the philosophy of Huna and it is definitely something very unique and different.

The Huna philosophy is related to the harmony between healing and bodywork. According to this philosophy, if harmony is lacking an individual begins to feel pain either physically or mentally. When you are in pain your body's energy level decreases and you get in a state of stress and tension. In order to release this tension, Lomi Lomi proves to be beneficial.

This type of massage technique is a bit different from other as more emphasis is laid upon spiritual healing during the beginning of your session with the therapist. A typical session would begin with silence and the therapist would just lay his hands gently on the back of his client and keep them still for a while. This position is called the stillness and it lasts until the therapist prays quietly asking for healing his client.

Not at all like other back rub strategies, in the matter of Lomi Lomi, no two sessions are comparative regardless of the fact that you go to the same adviser. It relies on upon your vitality level that what procedures are utilized amid the back rub session. The entire body would be worked out moving hands, palms and lower arms in moderate musical movements. You would feel like waves are hitting you in an exceptionally tender way.

In some cases, different parts are worked on at the same time making you feel the rhythmic movements hitting you from every where. You get into the state of deep relaxation because your mind is unable to focus as different parts are being worked on at the same time. Once the session is complete, you will feel much relaxed than before and tension between your joints and muscles no longer remains.

Main focus is laid upon keeping the client in his comfort zone. Although your muscles and joints are gently stretched but with care so that you don't find it discomforting at all. It is one of those massaging techniques where the client would get the feeling of deep relaxation from beginning till the end of the session.

Not many towels or coverings are used, in fact you would be lying down on the surface of the table without any covers and the body will be covered to the minimum extent exposing most of the body parts. This helps the therapist to do what he is supposed to do in the most easiest and less disrupting way possible. At the same time, it is made sure that the client remains within his comfort zone.

This massaging technique is definitely one of the most unique and different methods that you would come across. Not every therapist is capable of performing it and he has to train hard in order to gain expertise.
