Enjoy These Activities in Swaziland

In Africa there is a small country named Swaziland and tourists visit this country often. The specialty of this country is that it has wonderful wild nature, various recreational activities and it is also famous for national rituals. It is also well known for it’s wide set of ecological zones from savannas to dense tropical forest.

Swaziland is a place with the best climate and the conformation of land is best suited for horse rides. There are many places in Swaziland, which are accessible only by horse riding as they are in interior and difficult to access places, therefore, trekking, hiking and horse riding are some of the best modes of roaming in Swaziland. The office of the national parks in Swaziland offers good routes chalked out by savage medieval tribes of locals. Horse riding is one of the topmost forms of excursions for tourists in Swaziland.

National dancing and singing form the characteristic features of the main cultural ceremonies of Swaziland. Tourists are attracted towards the traditional folk ceremonies. The local inhabitants dance wearing their national dresses accompanying the national music with appealing melodies and rhythms.

Tourists who wish to see the most important religious ceremonies are welcomed to visit the country in August or September (the “Reed” ceremony) or in December-January (in order to attend the holidays arranged to glorify the harvest and rich crops).

Indeed, the latter ceremony is worth to see - it requires a religious journey to the coast and the purpose of the people getting into the water is to take some Indian Ocean foam. Then, the people visit all the villages where they can take some endemic plants, water and ocean foam. The summit of the journey is when the Swaziland’s King eats a pumpkin and dance. After the King finishes eating the pumpkin, all the inhabitants are allowed to eat newly harvested plants.

Swaziland, officially the kingdom of Swaziland and some times called Ngwane or Swatini and this small land belong in South Africa. As far as tourism is concerned, this small and cute land is exceptional in its flora and fauna. For instance, The Milvane Wildlife Sanctuary attracts almost all sorts of tourists because of its diversity of animals from terrain and water like hippos, giraffes, zebras and the crocodiles and more. Swaziland is colonized by more than two hundred species of birds including the Violet Lory, which is marked as the national symbol of Swaziland.

A great variety of tropical plants and animals like hippos, species of antelopes, leopards, crocodiles, hyenas, 350 species of birds and others can be found in one of the popular national park, Mlavula, which is spread over thousands of hectares of wild forests.
