Sites To See On DC Class Trips

By Angelique Larsen

DC class trips are likely to take in a number of well known sites within the city which means they have to be very well planned out. So in order to give you some help here are some things you may wish to include on any trip you undertake.

Of course most people are going to be focused on things related to politics and government due to the White House and Capitol Hill being here. If you are visiting then look at getting official guided tours as you do learn a lot more with the way they convey the information.

You may also wish to spend time looking at things such as the US Supreme Court or even the library of congress which has the biggest collection of books in the country. Again you should look at getting some guided tours rather than trying to find your own way around as you will learn so much more this way.

Apart from sites linked to politics and power there are also fourteen museums to choose from but perhaps the main one is the Smithsonian. It really is impossible to visit every one so pick a couple and concentrate on those during your visit.

You may also wish to look at Union Station with its range of restored shops and restaurants in order to give a break from purely learning about the city. You can easily spend an afternoon looking around the station and get something to eat before heading back to look at more historical monuments.

If you are considering going on DC class trips then do consider using one of the many companies out there that can help to arrange your itinerary. They can set up the tours at the different places and structure it in such a way that you get the maximum out of your days there and come away feeling you have explored the entire city far better than you would have done yourself.
