Secrets To A Safe Flight

By Jericho Khris

Whether the pilot flies alone or has passengers, safety will always be important. It is the duty and responsibility of every pilot, private or commercial, to make sure that each flight they partake on will be safe and sound. All pilots are not only required, but is responsible to learn how to make each flight the safest as it can be and be prepared for whatever scenario may happen. It is not surprising that so many things can go wrong in a flight and there is no question on how dangerous it is. Prevention is better than cure when it comes to aviation.

The responsibility is definitely very daunting, but it doesn't mean that it is difficult to make a private pilot flight safe every time. Here are some tips that you can use in order to give your passengers and your co-pilot a very safe flight, following these tips will ensure that you will be prepared to whatever problems and scenarios that may happen during the course of the flight:

A pre-flight briefing is one of the most important factors every private pilot should never over look. A pre-flight briefing that is thoroughly prepared will ensure the right reactions to any scenario that may arise. This is important since it panic will be prevented which can be very disastrous since it distracts you from you responsibilities of keeping the flight as safe as possible. Injuries during situations like crashes will also be negated by a good pre-flight briefing.

Patience is the key, never be too much of in a hurry to get the aircraft off the ground. You have to make sure to pre-flight your aircraft and make sure you are checking the engines; landing gear and all the other hardware are functioning normally and will not fail you during the course of the flight. This is a matter of life and death during a crisis up there in the skies.

While being brave is a cool and admirable thing, it does not go well in aviation. Always avoid being a daredevil. If there is anything that you have not been cleared or qualified to be able to do, then do not do it. Do not risk an accident just because you want to have a little fun or have become a little too overconfident. Even a pilot must keep feet on the ground and not let everything go to his head or else it will have disastrous results.
