Orlando Hotels Provide A Wide Range Of Accommodations

By John Alexander

Orlando, Florida, has become a vacation paradise. Home to enough major theme parks to keep anyone entertained for weeks, the region is also the site of many other attractions, all within a region of great natural beauty. Since the early 1970s this area has become a major destination, and Orlando hotels rank second only to Las Vegas in number of rooms.

Choosing the best place to stay depends on what you most want to see. While most people come for the theme parks, there are also world-class golf courses, spas, and resorts catering to relaxation. From relatively inexpensive hostels to bed-and-breakfast inns and five-star luxury establishments, all accommodations are within easy walking or driving distance of the attractions.

With so many choices, finding the best one for your needs requires planning ahead. Most people try to optimize their visit by staying close by, or within walking distance to their favorite attractions. Families also often want to stay in a child-friendly establishment, while adult parties may want to consider an upscale, full-service hotel, or even renting a vacation home.

The time of year chosen for travel can make a difference in overall costs. Package deals are nearly always available, and details vary by the season and chosen resort. Some parks even promote different hotel rates for various specific holiday weekends. Decide well ahead of time how many people are going to be traveling in your group, and choose whether to visit during peak or off-season.

With over 35 airlines serving this region, and direct connections via Amtrak, one of the biggest transportation concerns is whether or not to rent a car upon arrival. A package plan usually provides for certain type of ground transportation, but check to see if driving will be required. Most larger accommodations offer scheduled transport to and from the parks.

For many vacationers, the most convenient places to stay are located inside the theme complexes. They are perfect for groups or families, and are within leisurely walking distance of park entrances. Some offer kitchen facilities, and most also feature such amenities as microwaves and refrigerators, internet access, and even supervised activities and programs for kids.

Choose a hotel or other lodging based on which activities and sites are most important, ease of access, and, of course, overall budget. See your travel agent or visit a travel website to find the best bargains and locations. Because there is such a wide range and variety of Orlando hotels, finding the one best suited to your needs should be an easy task.
