By Johnathan Black

Do you remember the excitement of your first camping trip - getting up early in the morning, having a hot chocolate before the drive out of town, and all the fun of being in the great outdoors? You can recreate this feeling again, the next time you take a trip to go fishing. Continue reading for ways to enhance your next fishing trip and make it a great one.

If you want to fish all day long, then it is advised that you do not bring any children. The majority of small children simply can not sit still for long periods of time. Therefore, you'll be spending a lot of your fishing time having to watch them and trying to keep them as quiet as possible. If you want to have a serious day of fishing, then having children around is not a good idea.

So you have decided you want to take up fishing as a hobby. When you are just starting with fishing, you should keep your equipment pretty simple. It depends on what type of fish you are fishing for when it comes to equipment. Most beginners start with lightweight tackle. The essential beginner's equipment should include a rod and reel, 12 lb. test line, small and medium sized hooks (for live bait fishing), a couple of bobbers, a few artificial lures, some sinkers, a pair of pliers, a net, and a pocket knife. Don't forget to check your state's laws to see if you need a fishing license for the body of water where you plan on fishing.

Caution should be exercised when drinking while fishing! While many people feel that fishing is the perfect sport for a beer or other alcoholic beverages, care must be taken, especially when fishing from a boat. Additionally, alcohol is a quick route to stupid, but serious mistakes, such as a hook in someone's eye or the loss of the day's catch.

Practice patience for fishing success. Every highly prolific person that fishes knows how to calmly wait out the fish, and lets them bite at will. Plan ahead to make sure you're comfortable while you wait. The less you try to rush the whole fishing process, the greater your chances of having a bountiful haul.

If you feel that you have caught a fish, do not jerk your line. Any jerking motion can be the difference between catching your fish and letting it off the hook. Always try to guide your fish slowly back to your boat by making slow rotations of your fishing line.

There are fishes all around the world, and fishing is done throughout the world. You have the opportunity to fish in all kinds of waters and catch all kinds of fish. Use the tips laid out here to handle them all and to have a good time while you're doing it.
