Having Fun Outside: Information And Advice For Camp

By Johnathan Black

Something as seemingly simple as camping might seem as though little planning is necessary. This is not the case. The better planning you do, the more fun you can have. The tips below will help you in finding the best plan for your next camping trip so you are prepared for anything.

If you are hiking through dense foliage, be prepared by wearing clothing that covers most of your skin. Dense foliage can hide many different poisonous plants, briars, thorns and sharp tree branches. If your skin is not covered, you can expect to have all sorts of skin irritations, cuts and abrasions by the end of the day.

Camping is hard work, but it's also very much fun. Once you figure out what you're doing, the rewards are numerous. You get to experience nature and the outdoors, picnics are always fun, and you get a chance to sleep under the stars. Nothing beats some of the experiences you can have camping.

When camping, an insulated air mattress is useful for more than just comfort. An insulated mattress with a waterproof bottom can also keep you dry and warm in inclement weather. If the bottom of your tent is wet or cold, then you can still sleep comfortably above the elements. Many good air mattresses come with loops that enable you to tie multiple units together for cozy sleep quarters for two.

If you are planning any kind of backcountry camping, a must carry item is a fire starter kit. If you are in a survival situation, fire is a way to cook, keep you warm, purify water, and signal for help. Many camping stores sell fire starters that can be used when wet and do not require any fuel. Also, try making fire when you are not in a survival situation so you know you can do it if the need arises.

Ensure that you clean your campsite up whenever you finish using it. Pick up any piece of trash you can find. This is just common courtesy for the people who will be using it whenever you finish. You would want and expect the same thing in return from other people.

If you are camping and the weather is starting to rise significantly, tale the coolers that you have with you and put them somewhere in the shade. It will also help to keep them covered with some type of tarp. This will keep the temperature inside the cooler from rising too much.

You need to be fully prepared for anything when you go camping. Now that you have read the ideas in this article, you can be truly prepared to do just this. Keep in mind all that you have read both in the days leading up to your trip and while you are in the great outdoors.
