How to Plan a Great Girls' Weekend with Glamping Maine

By Barbara Burns

Planning a girls' weekend with your friends can be fun and relaxing. If you are tired of bar hopping or clubbing and you want to have time to really unwind, getting out into the country may be just the escape you want. Glamping Maine can be a fun way to get away from city life while not giving up any of the creature comforts you enjoy on a daily basis.

Traditionally, camping has been very relaxing but if you don't know what you're doing you may end up cold and miserable. When some people think about sleeping outside they think of leaking tents, bad food cooked over a campfire and other unappealing images. Glamping is not at all like this. It often involves gourmet food cooked by professional chefs and allows you to enjoy nature while sleeping in luxurious surroundings.

In the beginning, very few places provided these kinds of facilities. Now, however, many locations can provide you with an upscale camping experience. Because more locations can provide you with a glamorous time in the wild, you may be able to compare and find the package that suits you best.

An important step that you should take when planning a girls' weekend is to talk to your group and figure out if there are particular things that they want to do or specific facilities that they want to make sure a campground would have. You may also want to figure out how many people will be joining you for your weekend.

One thing to find out is whether you need to make any reservations for activities when you are booking your stay. Some popular activities can book up quickly. It can be very disappointing to plan a weekend and think you will be able to take part in different sports or activities only to find out that everything has been fully booked up.

Some people like to be able to drink with their meals and this is especially true if you are enjoying gourmet dinners prepared by professionals. If you love the idea of bringing your own or you want to have specific wines or types of alcohol you need to make sure that you find out what the guidelines are for that. If you want to stay in a location where drinking is not permitted you need to ask about that as well.

You should also find out how many people maximum can stay at any one given time. If you want to have a more private experience you may want to stay at a smaller campground so that you can have the place all to yourself. You might also want to look at places that have groups of sleeping quarters that have some space between them.

You may want to start your search by looking online. Look for sites that show images of the sleeping quarters, the eating facilities and any other areas of interest. A good facility may even have information on the different activities that are available or offer you sample menus that you can use to narrow down your selection and find the option that is right for your needs.
