The Awe Of A Waterfall

By Darrel Jefferson

As human beings on planet Earth, it is our responsibility to do all we can to make sure we preserve and conserve the natural resources that we have been given. One of these precious resources is water.

Fracking is a process designed to extract natural gas from rocks and fossils far below the surface. People have located the pockets of gas well below the earth's surface.

The true challenge is extracting it without having to dig a large man hole to get down there. Fracking drills a hole the size of its pipe thousands of feet into the ground.

The falls at Niagara are located on the border of Ontario, Canada and New York. It is found flowing from the other four lakes directly into Lake Ontario, via Niagara River.

If you leave the tap running, you're wasting precious water. One way to get around this is to keep a pitcher of water in your refrigerator.

The contaminated water is drawn back up to tanks on the surface and taken away to be cleansed. Many are excited that Americans can do this on their own soil and sell it to each other.

Drips in faucets also are the source of a great deal of wasted water every year. You can hire a plumber to come and fix your leaky faucets in your home.

Environmental conservationists greatly fear what this gas extraction technique will do to the ground water available around large cities. The process is uncertain and therefore contamination of the ground water is very possible.

The idea of drilling thousands of feet into the ground and shooting a pressurized mixture of water and sand at high rates of speed for the express purpose of creating fissures in the rock is a suspect way of doing business.

You would think that the lakes and the rivers would eventually run out of water. Yet, year after year they continue to flow strong into the Niagara River.

This usually happens when people are watering their lawns, or washing their cars. They forget that the hose is on, and just let it run.

Some have begun fighting it with studies, but as of yet, there is a lack of compelling evidence proving that fracking is involved with the contamination of ground water. Any incidents attributed to the contamination of ground water have been proven to be caused by something else.

Use only the water that is absolutely necessary for completing the task at hand. A problem that is related to this is the problem of ill-used irrigation systems.

Even the President of the United States, Barrack Obama, mentioned that it had the opportunity to help out the U.S. economy. With those endorsements, the process is still allowed to continue, despite the fears of environmentalists. Their fears are yet to be proven, as is the defense.

There is much more that scientists have to learn about the process to help make an effectual decision on this matter.
