Teachers often start with a one year or shorter contract. Some return home with unique experiences and unforgettable memories while others stay overseas and make a career out it. Even the briefest experience can make a teacher more globally aware and improve future employment prospects. Some prefer to build a life in a single location while others keep moving to see and experience different cultures.

Work is relatively easy to find. Qualifications can help enhance opportunities and make the teacher more prepared for the classroom but is not critical. Some countries demand a degree while others insist it must be in linguistics or humanities but this does not close the door to those without, a good agent can help locate suitable positions and there are options to study online either before or during your first placement. With more experience better contracts become available.
