Recycled Art in Arizona

By Mara Hernandez-Capili

Because of the constant rise of the issue involving global warming, we citizens are constantly faced with ways to contribute to the betterment of our environment. In this article we will tackle one solution that artists embraced in answer to caring more for our environment and that is making art through recycled items. Almost anything can be done through recycled items including making splendid artworks.

Harvey Whitcomb is a green artist who uses pieces of used compact discs and frames it to create an abstract artwork. Judging from his website, one can clearly conclude that he had mastered the art of recycled art. His famous artwork of bits and pieces of CD's to form an incredible multi-colored mosaic art left anyone fascinated and in awe.

Green artists are what you call artists or creative artisans that make use of recycled or environmentally friendly material in conjuring their artworks. They are conscientious people who are very concerned about the earth's environmental issues. The word "green" took on a whole new meaning this year for it no longer connotes the color but a term that describes the advocacy of creating a better environment. As of now, we have "green-collared" jobs in line with blue collar and white collared jobs.

Recycled art is also called as junk art where unconventional medium for making art is used to express or convey a specific feeling to the viewers. Junk art is making use of used materials and gives it a new life. Example of a very common recycled art is a kids' craft project of origami where they make use of newspaper to form the origami craft. This can also be achieved by using old pieces if paper.

There is going to be a Recycled Art Exhibition at Flagstaff, Mormon Lake in Arizona and all art aficionados and enthusiasts are requested to join and take part of this great and inspiring event.

Vegas With Children - Enjoying Sin City With Kids

By Chris Linch

A trip to Las Vegas is a dream vacation for most people. While Sin City is more often than not portrayed as an adult playground (rightfully so), rest assured, a trip to Vegas with children is not a ludicrous thought . Many people desiring to vacation in Vegas usually want to know how they can have a good time with their children. The first step to vacation in Vegas with children is to compare various hotel room rates. Second to price, there are some obvious on Hotel venues to avoid - names worth passing over when planning a trip to Vegas with children include The Hard Rock, Hooters, and The Palms. While some might argue otherwise, beyond those three names, choose a Hotel that meets your specific needs (namely comfort and price).

When thinking of the activities children may enjoy while you indulge in more "mature" pursuits of the Sin City, it is important to consider age versus available activities. With that in mind, below we've highlighted some ideas for places to visit when enjoying vegas with children:

The Lied Discovery Museum is particularly geared to the younger set of kids. It comes equipped with play spaces, and in an educational spin, scientific "discoveries" can be made amongst its many displays. The museum also has informative children's guided tours, creating a more enjoyable and educational experience.

The Preserve of Las Vegas Springs incorporates various gardens, interactive exhibits, and desert trails that children of a more "intermediate" age will likely find enthralling. And How about Circus Circus's Adventure dome Theme Park? The amusement park is filled with carnival games, water rides, and rollercoasters. You could probably fill a couple hours here alone. Another idea for those visiting Vegas with children is to check out one of the towns many magic shows - these are likely to be particuarly enthralling for children. Some of these include David Copperfield and the Lance Burton Show at the Monte Carlo.

Elsewhere, the Mandalay Bay Shark Reef, featuring large aquariums and various forms of marine life, is worth checking out. The New York, New York arcade in Las Vegas features a rollercoaster and arcade games - an enjoyable time when visiting vegas with children of an older age. An ESPN Zone is also located within the premises - drinks and wings time!. Children and adults alike can also be entertained at the Gameworks, next to the hotel MGM Grand.

Within Caesar Hotel's Forum Shops, rides on motion machines, large fish tanks, and talking statues are available for viewing at FAO Schwarz. Freemont in Las Vegas's downtown offers free shows every half hour, and features great places to dine, such as Uncle Joe's Pizza and the Plaza Coffee Shop. The Mirage also offers the Carnegie Deli. While supervision may be required, don't skip over Margaritaville (complete with ballon blowing pirates and a children's menu). Lastly, The Dolphin Habitat and Secret Garden at the Mirage Hotel, together with the MGM Loin Habitat can make for a fun time when visiting Vegas with children.

Ultimately, while Vegas may best be known for gaming, it is in fact possible to enjoy Vegas with children - it just requires a little bit of extra planning.

Omni Berkshire Place Hotel in New York City

By Chris Linch

Where Is The Omni Berkshire Place Hotel Located?

It's located right in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. It's address is 21 East 52nd Street which means it's cross streets are 52nd street and Madison Avenue.

What Is It Near?

Being located in Midtown Manhattan it is near almost everything really. But in specfic it's very close to the Rockefeller Center which home to NBC studios and shows like Saturday Night Live and the Today Show along with the world famous ice skating rink that you've almost certainly seen featured on television and in movies. It's also just a few blocks away from Radio City Music Hall which is one of the most reknowned music venues in the world. Radio City Music Hall has played host to the Grammy's and many other awards shows along with great concerts and shows such as the Rockettes. It's also close to Times Square, St. Patrick's Cathedral, and the Museum of Modern Art.

Does It Have A Restaurant?

Yes, the in hotel restaurant is called Fireside Restaurant and it features an amazing floor to ceiling fireplace. The menu features the unique "cocktail cuisine" of chef Sam DeMarco. Of course, being in Manhattan, there are an incredible amount of amazing restaurants all around. Personally I think the food may be the best thing about NYC.

Amenities/Features Of The Omni Berkshire Place Hotel

- A complimentary fitness center that is fully equipped. - In-room massage service which can be scheduled through the concierge. - Babysitting. - Check cashing, currency exchagne, and ATM. - Wireless internet access for your laptop computer. - Pet friendly as long as the pets are under 25 pounds. There is a $50 fee for pets.

How Much Does It Cost?

This is a 5 star luxury hotel in New York City so it is not going to be cheap. But I'm sorry to tell you, there aren't any cheap hotels in NYC. It's not a cheap town. If you don't have much money, I'd suggest going elsewhere!

The price of a room is always changing based on the season and the day of the week. As of this writing you can get a room at the Omni Bkershire Place Hotel for $399/night which is a pretty good rate for NYC.

If you do want to stay at the Omni in NYC, be sure to to make your reservations online (I always recommend making your hotel reservations online, it's so much more convenient) as soon as possible because this hotel is often sold out.

This global financial and economic worry have caused major problems to many sectors of the economy, including the holiday maker industry. For a country like Morocco, with its sources of earnings are tourism, especially from EU countries and the USA and the direction of money by Moroccans Living Abroad (MLAs), our current crisis could seem a like a real threat to the economy, that get a traveller cash of fifty seven billion Dirhams in 2008, approximately Twenty p.c. of its Gross Domestic Product.

This is particularly obvious if you realize that money from tourism has fallen by 20% in the first months of 2009 per the same time in 2008. But the Moroccan holiday maker industry has the potential to avoid the downside effects of the situation, or benefit because of the changes experienced by this sector.

Of these diversification carried out by the diverseness borne out by the Moroccan holiday maker industry is its will to aim at seperate visiting nationalities.

Apart from MLAs, which accomplish just about half of the tourists that visit Morocco, the industry has traditionally focused on receiving visitors from France. Additionally, the quantity of tourists from states outer the EU have almost doubled in the duration from 2001 to 2008.

Morocco is putting a gigantic aim on this geographical diversification and that it is very familiar of its vital is reflected by its enterprise to attract fleeing nationalities. As an instance, the quantity of German travellers has fallen by nearly ten percent from 2001 to 2008. To change this inclination, cutting-edge plans to attract German tourists to the country have been put in motion, for example the current releasing a resort (June 2009) and in Mazagan (October 2009) which have been strategically conceived to respond to the demands of the German tourism. So, the diversification of the traveller industry and from the services advised, together with an increasing value of this training of traveller personnel, enhancement of the investing in selling, and a brand-new emphasis on the cooperation of public and private economic operators is allowing Morocco to weather the threats of the global economic situation whilst skyrocketing the quality of its tourism, the variety of its products and the well-being of its tourism.

If you make a decision to have a flavour of the quality and variety of the Moroccan visitor industry, we recommend a person to visit the place and like it in person. You could get a great impression of the excellence service from the different type of people in Marrakech.

Close Encounters of the Australian Kind

By Joseph Richards

Right before I moved to Australia with my husband, who is Australian, I watched a television show about the ten most deadly creatures in the world. I looked right at my husband and joked, that, if all ten were from Australia I was not moving. Little did I know I was not far off. Nine out of the ten creatures were from Australia.

My first encounter with a local arachnid came late one night when I wondered why there was a large frog shaped thing on the wall by the light switch as big as my hand. It all became clear when the light was switched on as it turned out to be a Huntsman Spider that got the shock of its life as much as I did and reared up on its hind legs and jumped at me , just missing my head and scampered away as fast as I did but in the opposite direction . These spiders, I later found out are not harmful, in fact, its good ,apparently, to have one in your house to eat the blowies (Blue bottles flies). I never did find my uninvited guest again but hoped it had been as traumatized as I was and moved out. My Husband told me that a whole can of insect Spray wont kill the big ones (mine was medium size) and they often used to fall on him when he used to clean the family car under the car port If only he had told me about that BEFORE I moved half way across the world .

I am no better with water creatures then I was with the spider. If anything touches my skin, while in the sea, I swim faster then ever. I am not a strong swimmer and the currents terrify me, add the fact that the ocean is full of box jelly fish and killer sharks, now I am petrified. I was even more so when my husband suggested we go sailing in the Whitsundays.

Although I was scared, I must admit, it was breathtaking. Turtles were swimming in the shallow water and dolphins followed us into the deeper parts. From then on I become more confident and started to swim in the water.

The water is so amazingly crystal clear here and so blue it is mesmerizing, that is until you see a dark shadow in the depths below you that seems to be coming nearer and nearer. It would be an understatement to say that I almost ran on top of the water shrieking like a banshee. I leapt up the ladder to find my Husband in fits of laughter pointing to what I had been swimming from " not a shark as I had automatically assumed or a jelly just a Clown Fish . Well it WAS the size of a dinner plate but I guess I was the clown!
